After attending Glasgow School of Art as a mature student, and graduating in 1984, I worked from a WASPS studio at the Tolbooth in Stirling for several years, before moving to Western Australia where I lived for six years. I returned to Scotland in 1998. My main interest is in exploring landscape. In Scotland the focus has been on shapes and patterns using a flattened perspective, while the Australian work emphasizes texture, pattern and surface. I use a variety of media including oil, acrylic, pastel and collagraph printing. I also maintain a strong interest in figure painting, life drawing and portraits. |
